About the event

Charlotte sings the second soprano solos and choruses of the Kyrie and Gloria in Bach's B Minor Mass under the direction of Adrian Butterfield. 'As a special tribute to St Bartholomew the Great on its 900th anniversary and to its renowned Director of Music Paul Steinitz (1909-1988), The Musicians’ Company annual celebration of Bach takes on one of the composer’s most monumental works. It is likely that the whole Missa was never performed in public during Bach’s lifetime, but it is clear that many sections were used by the composer on various occasions. The first complete performance of the Mass in the UK was in 1876 by The Bach Choir. As director of the London Bach Society from 1946, Paul Steinitz frequently featured the Mass in his programmes.' Entry is free and it is advised to arrive before 1pm. More information can be found here.
